It has survived the ‘sauna test’ Unscathed - hottest part of a dry sauna - on the bench - for 1 hour - and then I’ve been wearing it in the sauna and pool. Traditionally, the trade-off with titanium is that it would scratch quite easily; especially some of the early titanium models that were introduced around 50 years ago.

The second hand strikes each mark more or less spot on - I am very pleased with the fit, finish, features, feel on the wrist, accuracy and quality control. Both watches offer strong water performance, considering they’re not divers; coming in at 100m of water resistance. I figured we’d do a quick comparison of the two, to work out which may be the best option for you; because under the skin, these pair do have their differences. The RXD425L8 is rated 100m water resistant (10 atmospheres)and suitable for swimming and snorkeling but not diving.It has a screw back so if you want to save money and change the battery yourself, all you need is is a good quality tool and you can take the back off without risk of causing damage. The case of the Lorus RXD425L8 has a width of 37mm, excluding the crown, and has a thickness of 8mm.

It's also a great watch but has a fully lumed Lumibrite dial - whereas this one hasn't and the dial on the Lumibrite is too busy, I prefer the cleaner simpler dial on this. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms.

I anticipated that these would have the same movement within, however, it turns out they are slightly different.

The strap is fabric, and can be removed and washed, if it gets dirty, which I did with my previous one. This comes by way of a notched case-back and should be suitable for submersion and even swimming – all you can ask for in a field watch and notably more than its competition. The dial has a nicer tone and better matches the white date wheel, compared to the Lumibrite watch, which looks unusual in comparison. Neither are heavy watches in the slightest, though you’re unlikely to have the Lumibrite one feel like it’s disappearing on-wrist, in the same way as the titanium model does.
