Where this book really shines, however, is in its impressively detailed probe into the politics of immigration "reform." The authors document how expensive lobbying and strategic donations have brought politicians of both major parties and all ideological persuasions to support increased high-skill migration, despite its deleterious effects. They do this in my own favorite section of the book, chapter 12, "Exposed: How Beltway Crapweasels Cooked Up the Gang of Eight's 'Comprehensive Immigration Reform.' a b c Peter Slen (November 13, 2013). "Guest Worker Programs" (Video). C-SPAN Washington Journal . Retrieved November 20, 2015. Authors Michelle Malkin and John Miano talked about their book, Sold Out: How High-Tech Billionaires and Bipartisan Beltway Crapweasels are Screwing America's Best and Brightest Workers, and the current guest worker program. More than a decade in the making, Soled Out is the definitive - and only - collection of sneaker advertisements from the footwear industry's golden age. Lovingly written and compiled by Simon 'Woody' Wood, founder of the legendary Sneaker Freaker magazine and author of The Ultimate Sneaker Book , this colossal volume combines nearly 900 vintage images with a punchy narrative full of insider stories and historical revelations. This new book is an incredible compilation of nearly 900 vintage print advertisements sourced from the golden age of sneakers – the 1970s, '80s and '90s (with just a couple of earlier Converse campaign images, for added authority). The period is defined by the book's author Simon 'Woody' Wood, editor-in-chief of Sneaker Freaker magazine, the world's leading authority on sneaker culture. Why stop at the year 2000 Well, "advertising from the 2000s onwards is simply too modern and too knowingly sophisticated for sentimental reflection," writes Woody in the book's introduction.
