This Remembrance Day silhouette template is excellent for Remembrance Day displays or for various other exercises. You could use it as a drawing and colouring exercise or perhaps decorate the soldier with poppies or other commemorative flowers to make a poignant display. Binyon did not date the manuscript, but he likely penned it before the war ended in 1918. The BEF notepaper adds a particular poignancy, as the poem was written to honour British soldiers who died on the Western Front - many of whom Binyon, as a volunteer medic, would have served alongside. On 11 November 1920, the second anniversary of the Armistice, the commemoration became a funeral when the remains of an unknown soldier were returned from the battlefields of the Western Front. The conflict had mobilised over 70 million people, left between 9 and 13 million dead, and as many as one third of these with no grave. The condemn/contemn issue is considered a distinctly Australian phenomenon (oddly, the Academy of American Poets uses “contemn” in its publication of “For the Fallen”). Perhaps now, with confirmation coming from Binyon’s own hand, the issue may be put to rest. For the SSF, try to upgrade them to get their timed explosives as they are completely busted and will almost one shot an HQ. When trying to deploy the timed explosives you need to have them hold fire, or it will auto cancel. Once the explosives are set have them run away before opening fire. A short religious service, included a two-minute silence is followed by a march-past including hundreds of military veterans.
