About this deal

It’s a new year and that means it is time for a refresh of products from Xiaomi’s budget brand, Redmi. See low profile means a shorter switch/keycap, not only offers that slightly improved and faster keystrokes, but for regular keyboard usage and typing a lot of stuff (as I do at this moment) it's just a bit more comfortable on the fingers. While it doesn’t have doubleshot PBTs, it does come with extra keycaps for W, A, S, D, Q, E, R, and F.

There’s a lot of making selections only to have them not apply because you failed to drag-drop them to some other confusing profile menu.

And while a shorter throw clearly isn't for everyone, the contrast isn't quite as marked as you might expect it to be. Low Profile RAPIDFIRE Mechanical Gaming Keyboard combines the comfort of low-profile, low travel keys, with the performance of ultra-fast Cherry MX mechanical keyswitches and stunning RGB lighting.

Low Profile RAPIDFIRE keyboard oozes build quality and has been plated with the formidable-looking black anodized aluminum, it just looks awesome if you dig that kind of thing. Unless you were absolutely tied to the idea of low-profile keys, we'd probably opt for the big boy K70 over this. Unfortunately, iCue itself is a less than stellar program and it may sabotage your profiles from time to time, erasing any macros not saved to onboard memory. For an easy comparison, a ranking is calculated based on collected reviews and opinions from tech experts. From a build quality the K70 MK2 is clearly a premium board and is both lightweight and built to last. In any case, iCue should be immediately familiar to anyone who has used Corsair’s products in the past. Corsair's iCUE is designed to configure the backlight by layer, where each layer can have a different configuration. If you want to know more, there is a link in the description to my review of the K68 RGB where I explain what these two terms mean, and why they are important. Options include macro, text, media, launch application, timer, disable, or profile switching for each button on the K70 RGB MK.

The keyboard also features an integrated USB hub, allowing users to connect additional peripherals without cluttering their desk space. Besides the new design and updated media keys and placements, the bigger selection of possible switches is one of the most important improvements of the Corsair K70 RGB MK. This keyboard has a great number of extra features, similar to most other Corsair keyboards, like the Corsair K68 RGB. There are little risers on the back on the keyboard that can be flipped up to tilt the keyboard a bit. You can also remap the keys into other keys from A to Z, number or symbol keys, function keys, enhanced keys, numeric keypad, modifiers and lock keys, language key, mouse button, or keystroke. We're looking at the Cherry MX Red low-profile version here, and Corsair has also put out a RapidFire edition which applies Cherry's super-light MX Speed switches to the same physical layout.
