About this deal

Apparently you need to first define what device is being used for recording. This is done via the Menu, TV Set Up, Media Setting, Device List. There are numerous other instructions for setting up a recording which for me was too much and that is why we have never used it. Apple and Android compatible for wireless casting, good selection of streaming apps available, most lightweight TV in our guide If you’re looking for a smart TV that allows you to log in to your favourite streaming services and is also relatively light in weight, we think this 21.5-inch Avtex could be the best caravan TV for you. Through this method, you have dramatically improved the sound quality of your small portable 12V TV for your caravan or motorhome and taken up very little additional space. What we really like is the fact that there is a built-in battery which means if you need to save energy on your leisure battery you can run it off its own battery for a while before it needs to be charged up again. Buying Guide

I chose not to write this post around the best individual TVs for your caravan or motorhome as the products available are constantly changing. This 19-inch model from Cello is a practical choice for a caravan TV, with the built-in DVD player and lightweight design just two of the plus points. The useful ability to be able to pause live TV is a handy feature, while being in an area with poor signal shouldn’t be a problem, thanks to the built-in satellite tuner. The caravan television also comes with a built-in satellite tuner with Freesat, offering access to over 170 channels (just make sure you have your satellite dish for this), while Freeview Play is also included.

More and more televisions are being manufactured with DVB-T receivers built in and this removes the necessity for an external set-top box. Satellite digital television (DVB-S) Just how good is this system in France and what will I be dependent upon to receive a signal the further south I go - I read on this forum (or somewhere else) that someone was getting reception from as far south as Avignon !! Personally I would not open the tv to improve reception. I would test it on a good aerial connection at home and adjust the settings where possible to provide best picture. As I said ours has always provided an excellent picture. I know this because its how I’ve been powering a pair of stereo speakers, the speakers you see above, which sit behind my 22″ Samsung Smart TV.

It is possible to line up a satellite dish using just a compass and watching the television screen. However, it is probably best to use a piece of equipment usually called a “satfinder” which is connected between the dish and the receiver. However, after observing guests putting up portable satellite dishes, you need to fit guy ropes. Some portable satellite dishes come with guy ropes, but many don’t. Its actually got to the point where most people don’t want to watch live TV, they want to ‘stream’ content. Another feature we like is it’s Bluetooth compatible. This is ideal for hooking the TV up to speakers or syncing wireless headphones if you don’t want to disturb the rest of the family, without the worry of cables cluttering the confines of your van. Currently, I’m with Three on an unlimited data contract, and I use my phone as a ‘Hotspot’ pretty much all day, every day. Streaming Services TV Data Usage

Like the Cello C1920FMTR, this Sniper model is a caravan TV that comes with a built in DVD and CD player. You can get a small plug-in inverter to run these items, but this adds both complexity and cost, and will drain your 12V battery far faster than simply running a 12V TV (inverters take a lot of current and are not 100% efficient in conversion from DC to AC).

Financing a caravan: the ultimate guide

This is not full HD but the resolution is 1024 x 600 which for a TV of this size is perfectly acceptable. There is also no DVD player but when you are buying a TV this small you can’t expect it to have one. Also if you go to Expensive World make sure you don't buy a Samsung or LG that is a model exclusive to them. This is the method I use every day to share my phone’s internet connection with my computer due to our poor landline broadband. Depending on how ‘down with the kids’ you are, you may be familiar with Bluetooth speakers, which can be linked up to smartphones and tablets. Therefore, I’m going to skip recommending Bluetooth speakers and go for a much simpler (and cheaper) option. Desktop PC Stereo Speakers

I may well be wrong but I don't think you need a converter. My Samsung is 14v input and works fine on 12v and I think I'm right in saying they all work off something like 5v anyway! They are too big, bulky and heavy. So what options do you have to improve the sound quality of the small portable TV in your caravan or motorhome? A Bluetooth Speaker?

Best caravan under £20,000 2024

We also appreciate the flexibility this Avtex model provides – not only can both Apple and Android devices be wirelessly cast to it, but it’s also 12v/24v DC and 240v AC compatible. Never tried to use it for recording and the instructions are fairly complex. It seems that you can use a variety of devices for recording through the usb port and it does refer to the use of a portable hard disc but I believe flash drive should work.
