About this deal

Leisuretec are Trade Distributors of Professional and Commercial Audio, Lighting, Video, Special Effects and Ancillary. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. In addition to menu functionality, the touchscreen gives clear indication of channel input levels, output levels, file name, and record duration.

colour touchscreen allows the user to navigate menus and adjust settings including the onboard DSP, which includes compressions, limiting, low-cut, noise gate, and automatic gain control, and reverb – to which there are six different room presets. In fact, the interface generally is great: there are 15 top-panel buttons (nine of them, including the Quick button, arranged in a circle, like a TV remote) and the menus don't have many nested levels. There's an up-to-two-seconds pre-record facility, and a self-timer to allow you time to pick up your instrument before recording commences.

The '4CH' mode uses both the internal microphones and the external inputs to record two pairs of inputs as two concurrent stereo files.

Along with the 128 x 64-pixel blue LCD display, the DR40X now features ‘one thumb’ operation for functions such as recording, adjusting levels, erasing sections and adding marks. The DR-40X supports SDXC cards as recording media, which are available with very large data capacities. Dual recording mode captures a secondary safety track at a lower level, making sure volume spikes don’t ruin your recording. It sounds good, and does more than simply record — it's great to have overdubbing, and a handy backup audio interface into the bargain. These times are based on using included microphones, phantom power off, and a recording format of WAV at 44.
