People also cry PARADOX at this point. Cooper should be able to send himself a message in the past to find NASA which is true for beings occupying three dimensional physical space and experiencing time linearly(fourth dimension). Beyond those four dimensions though time is not linear. It has all happened, past future and present. That doesn’t mean you can jump in and out of physical space at different times, it just means you can observe it all happening and something like a paradox doesn’t exist when there is no beginning or end. It sounds like fantasy but it is a viable theory in advanced physics. Christopher Nolan has been in my movie 'Hall of Fame' for many years, by virtue of his previous efforts, most notably the intriguing 'Memento', the mesmerising 'Insomnia', the spectacular 'Batman Begins', the thought-provoking 'The Prestige', the enthralling 'The Dark Knight' and (most recently) the utterly captivating 'Inception' - which for me tops them all and firmly sits at the top of the pile, alongside Michael Mann's 'Manhunter', as my most favourite film. Across all Dimensions and Time (09:02) - The design and realisation of the tesseract seen in the film's final act. With our time on Earth coming to an end, a team of explorers undertakes the most important mission in human history; traveling beyond this galaxy to discover whether mankind has a future among the stars. (less) Remember the beginning as you continue to watch and things may be clearer and without repeat viewing !!!

I think this is a fantastic movie. It has been compared to 2001 A Space Odyssey but I think it far surpasses that movie. People who hold up 2001 with its far more confusing an unscientifically supported ending while complaining about Interstellar’s ending do not make much sense in my opinion. The Simulation of Zero-G– Gravity plays a huge role in the film and has multiple repercussions, though this is more focused on the actors’ and how they dealt with varying degrees of gravity. The Spacesuits (04:31) - The design and construction of the film's spacesuits is covered along with the challenges of acting in them.

Conclusion

Plan A involves solving the physics equations allowing for theoretical manipulation of gravity. This would allow the construction of large space going habitats on Earth’s surface into which the remaining population of Humans could be transported on to another habitable world. Inside 'Interstellar' (HD, 1 hr. 50 min.) – This behind-the-scenes documentary features 14 featurettes: "Plotting an 'Interstellar' Journey," "Life on Cooper's Farm," "The Dust," "Tars and Case," "The Cosmic Sounds of 'Interstellar,'" "The Space Suits," "The Endurance," "Shooting in Iceland: Miller's Planet/Mann's Planet," "The Ranger and the Lander," "Miniatures in Space," "The Simulation of Zero-G," "Celestial Landmarks," "Across All Dimensions and Time," "and "Final Thoughts." As you can tell from the titles they cover just about every interesting aspect of the film's production. Ones to really watch are "Tars and Case," which discusses the practical and digital effects that went into the movie's unique robots and "Miniatures in Space" which shows how some of the awesome deep space images were created and filmed. Miniatures in Space– We’re shown the use of miniatures in the film with respect to the scale and so on. Over the past decade and a half Christopher Nolan has established himself as one of the premier Directors. That’s a bold statement as the film industry has a lot of talent out there. Maybe a better phrasing would be “…has established himself as one of the most consistent Directors.” Beginning with Memento in 2000 where we met a man who suffered from short-term memory loss, he helmed the reboot of the Batman franchise. A few billion dollars later he blew our collective minds with the aptly-named Inception. So when it was announced that he’d direct the long-awaited Interstellar, which once had Steven Spielberg’s name attached to it, people took notice. It didn’t hurt the film with a freshly-crowned Oscar winner by the name of Matthew McConaughey in the lead role, either. With Nolan’s attention to detail, his own brother (Jonathan) as co-writer and a top notch cast – the die was set.

Dr. Mann- interesting character. Serves 2 purposes. Explains Prof. Brandt's sham and gives Cooper another opportunity to show what a badass pilot he is. Also, I think Brandt really bonded with Cooper emotionally after he saved them. Mann gave an excuse for maybe the 2 best set pieces ever in filmed. Interstellar launches onto 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray with an absolutely stunning HEVC / H.265 encoded 2160p transfer. The UHD Blu-ray was reviewed on a Samsung UE55KS8000 Ultra HD TV and a Samsung UBD-K8500 Ultra HD Blu-ray player. Life on Cooper's Farm—Bringing Americana and the grounded nature of a farm to a sci-fi space movie. Christopher Nolan films often appear crafted for demo purposes, with fantastic visuals and jaw-dropping IMAX sequences that demand to be shown off. Yet they’ve almost universally been peppered – not plagued, mind you – with minor issues that tend to leave them always running just shy of perfect. Interstellar, though not an exception, is so predominately stunning that the scattered anomalies are little more than passing space dust in the vastness of its otherwise spectacular universe. The conclusions that are reached can appear hokey on the surface. There's an "I've seen this somewhere else," vibe near the end. But, with Nolan's keen directorial eye, focused on the wonder of practical special effects, and a dominating performance from McConaughey, 'Interstellar' overcomes most of its faults and satisfies in the end.Plotting an Interstellar Journey– The filmmakers and some members of the cast look at the project ahead of them. How it will be filmed, some of the IMAX footage within as well as some of the logistics of the project as a whole. This three disc set contains two of the discs, each containing a movie (the Ultra HD on one and the Blu-ray on the other). The special features are all found on the third disc.
