About this deal

Sweet, soft, soapy, powdery, charming, feminine, as enchanting as a ballerina who has pirouetted into your life. I wear it to charity fund raiser dinners with my Wall Street Rotary Club and they all love it on me! But, the exact opposite happened: although L'Aimant was very successful, it also succeeded in increasing the demand for Chanel No. As for myself, she reminds me of my favourite aunt who has always worn it as her signature, even as a young woman in the 60s.

I was a teen in the 80's and I think we still had vintages around then but when the 90's came things really changed and not for the better.I have a new version of it and there are only traces of what it once was, it does remind me a bit of an 80's version of Climat (the small 5ml bottle with the black cap), this smells too much like hair spray and it puts me off. I was curious to try this after reading so many other reviews that liken L'aimant to Chanel's no 5 and having worn Chanel for a number of years I can see why. As for the Goya, the best I can say about the scent itself from the rim of the bottle is that it is an indistinct spring floral - however, I had a lot of fun with it otherwise.

Please read the full reviews and consider your own needs and preferences before making a purchasing decision. This is lovely, i was put off as used to think it was an 'old' scent but it's the closest thing i've found to my long discontinued Moschino 'L'eau Cheap and Chic'. The current version of L’Aimant is different from the vintage, a bit sharper, and the drydown not as nice, but still recognizable as L’Aimant. This perfume has so many of the accords I enjoy: aldehydes, neroli, florals, vanilla, sandalwood, musk, cedar wood. then turns to a scent that is like a rosier version of Avon's Sweet Honesty minus the dreaded plastic note. What comes out to me right off is the gentle introduction of peach ( but not peachy, only a nice waft of sweetness) and perhaps the ylang-ylang. Update: I have to say that in the heat of summer humid days I prefer this one to Chanle No 5 Eau Premiere.

I also experienced a strange shock of memory as I realized that my mother had a bottle of this - not only a small oval-shaped bottle (probably from the 60s or so,) but it was part of a three perfume set from Coty that also included Emeraude and L'Origan. The center of the perfume is the main attraction, consisting of an orchid-vanilla accord joined with rose, ylang-ylang and some jasmine, which make a very delicious bouquet with just an edge of the sultry-exotic thrown in to throw us a bit off balance. She pauses, fixes her regard on me: 'Oh of course, I knew all along this was a very male sort of a crime, didn't you? Much as so many of us associate 'Old Spice' with our beloved fathers, hands up who associates Coty L'Aimant with a beloved mother figure? L'Aimant Creamy Skin Perfume is based in sandalwood, musk, vetiver, vanilla, tonka bean, and some cedar. The differences are indeed minimal and one has to be actively looking for them, well on my skin anyway they are very close. Creams and oils alike remain an excellent way to scent the body, and can be both elegant AND potent. Coty L'Aimant is the scent of tenacity and unwavering love to her children, to me, to her grandchildren and to everyone lucky enough to have her in their lives. Just bought another bottle of L'Aimant which arrived not in the elongated bottle like the main picture here, but in the diamond-like bottle with red box like in one of the ads here on the right of the main picture.

This vintage L'Aimant has some of that "vintage eastern floral" smell, simply due to its age, but it adjusts itself quickly to our modern air and emits a bright beginning of fruity aldehydes - that classic combination of peach, bergamot and bright but gentle aldehyde, with just a small hint of soapiness. Let's just say that Isabey and JAR don't need to watch their backs - this could be fabric softener leaning in a vaguely white floral direction. I can't say it's one of my most favorite perfumes (I love sweet scents mostly), but I can see its pull.At the end of the day it can really be a budget Chanel double mainly for the one who prefers the more quiet perfumes.
