Using the included remote (and knobs on the radio), you can tune the sound to essentially whatever you prefer. According to the Volvo subwoofer installation instructions, you need to insert a pin into the large connector on the back of the REM (rear fuseholder), but that either needs to be enabled to function on that pin as a turn-on signal, or it is a communication bus signal to the factory amplifier. With some vehicles you can run the the cables thru the spare to hide the cables and prevent any chance of damage.
