What really sets this train apart from many others is the inclusion of twenty pieces of track, four straight components and sixteen curved.

This was a fun and fairly inexpensive little project that yielded a nice little powered train, or at least, it will once the IR receiver and remote arrive. A better option might be to make a larger boxcar and use that for power, since you could put the motor underneath and the battery and IR receiver inside. I doubt that we will get a new Western theme (I am still bitter at Lego about the Cuusoo Modular Western Town fiasco) but I think we'll get some sort of Western-based set next year for The Lego Movie. What I was unprepared for was the speed default on Lego train motors, turns out that if you don't have a speed controller they are set to around Mach 5 and will send a small train such as this flying off the tracks, much to the delight of my seven year old. Most on this site would agree that this line, with a couple exceptions, is not among the best of choices to place your investment dollars. There's an extension with snot brackets that lengthens the boiler, and a tile on the top of the bogey so it can slide. The rear of the car can be blown off by pushing a lever on the roof, allowing the convict to escape and inside a sticker shows a tally of days spent in the cell carved into the wall, which is evidently twenty-eight.
