This ironing board is designed and manufactured in the UK using only the highest quality materials and processes. Boardmann has a high quality cotton cover, double layer of foam and a mesh back to help get the creases out faster. The prozone cover has a heat-reflective metallic coating concentrated at the nose end of the board for faster crease removal, whilst the extra thick felt underlay gives a smooth ironing surface. We love the well-padded Thermo-Reflect cover, which reflects heat and steam from your iron rather than letting it escape and claims to help iron your clothes up to 33% faster than a traditional ironing board cover.
The cover is nicely padded and although we wouldn’t recommend it for larger families with heaps of ironing or if you’re wedded to ironing your duvets, it’s perfectly acceptable for t-shirts and jeans.For those of you who want to blitz your ironing in no time, this extra wide ironing board from Boardman is the largest ironing board on our list.
We've found that cream-coloured covers discoloured in our tests, so go for a different colour to avoid this issue. This did seem to make a difference, with items such as cotton t-shirts sometimes only needing a quick press on one side rather than both to remove light creases. For ease of use, the universal height mechanism allows the Ergo board to be positioned exactly at your preferred working height, up to 92 cm. It has a fixed solid iron rest (not steam generator units) and there’s even a handy cord holder, conveniently keeping the board clear for simple, fuss-free use. If there’s no table or desk space free, this is compact enough to place on top of a washing machine and yet offers a decent size surface area to make shirts look crisp and fresh.
Where as before ironing was just an extra job I struggled with (ie burning my carpet) it’s now a joy! Great height as I’m tall easy to use and the extra width works fantastic with sheets shirts and trousers. The ironing board is a piece of equipment that most of us use nearly every day, and yet we probably never give it any thought. Height and material: Firstly, make sure the board is a metal mesh construction below the cover, as this allows steam to pass through and evaporate.
Scratch-resistant wheels preserve the most delicate surfaces and allow the board to move, once closed, with one hand. It has seven height adjustments from 75 to 98cm, great for even the loftiest of ironers and our testers felt it was one of the most stable and sturdy boards they tried. It has a rack around the iron rest to hold freshly ironed items and anti-slip feet to keep it stable on hard floors.If you don’t iron weekly, then you’re not going to want a big, bulky ironing board occupying valuable space in your house.
