this module was a kit to solder, I modified it a little bit: added wires to the 7segments display and to the two buttons (which I changed for bigger ones) these wires allows me to screw the pcb on the bottom plate (part F of the box) and glue the display and attach buttons on the front panel (part B). This activity will bring home to your very modern students that the old fashioned idea of the sundial and the spinning Earth are closely connected with the time we keep. Put the piece [15] into the southern hemisphere [14] without turning it, align south Africa with north America and rotate the northern hemisphere by 1/3rd of turn. Remember that the Sun is blindingly bright – don’t stare at the solar disk the whole time, just glance at it occasionally so you know when to stop your timer! The piece [4]Night_globe has a sacrificial layer improving bed adhesion, it needs to be removed after printing. The best thing about this activity is that it helps the student extend their perception and envision our world as a planet in orbit around a star.

After uploading it, you can already see if your circuit works, by pressing either buttons, the motor should spin one way or the other. If your clock has a genuine defect that satisfies the conditions of the warranty and is within the warranty period we will, at our discretion and without cost to you, complete the necessary replacement of parts and/or rectify a fault or action any repair as identified by one of our fully trained technicians, or replace the clock for the same, or similar clock should an exact replica not be available. To achieve a realistic look, spray blue paint over the entire globe, and paint the continents with acrylic paint according to the colors on google earth. Since the hour hand only rotates around the clock once per a day, easily see and understand proportionally how much time you have left in the day. If your clock is open-faced do not move the hands on the front of the clock as this may damage the mechanism. Only careful experiments with different scientific models can help us sort out apparent motion from the actual motion of the Sun and Moon in space!
