About this deal

I devoured every single word of this book, going on a journey with so many twists and turns I never saw the end coming.

I like it when I'm able to discern things based on how a character acts, rather than being told what makes them who they are. Binchy, despite her stylistic licentiousness regarding commas and her tendency to pose questions without using a question mark (one of my pet peeves), is a fantastic storyteller. She lives in the Lake District in North West England — an area with stunning landscapes that also impact her work.Love the relationship between Angela and Clare and how they support each other throughout the years.

They are not his normal milieu, the stunning images of Africa and further abroad for which he is renowned. Echoes, is the first book the Echoes duology, maybe trilogy I'm not sure but it will twist your head and make you wonder the entire time what is going on, much like this show Lost or The Maze Runner. I like the evolution of their relationship, and both of them are amazing characters that are totally likable. The landscape belong to us as we crunched over frosted leaves and mud, misting breath into the cold air, crossing small stone and wooden bridges where streams carried away the twigs the boys dropped in; past brambles and an abandoned factory. Also, the ending really makes you question what came first, or if it was even real in the first place. However, I felt they were good enough to cheer on for, and they did pretty well leading this mystery story along. Binchy gives us a sense of wanting to be part of this community that looks out for one another and watches each other grow.

For the Wittgenstein family, the summer of 1915 was a time of both prosperity and unease, as the guns of war sound in the distance. Maybe teens really do talk like that these days, but the characters were also portrayed as relatively well-spoken and intelligent individuals, so these phrases jarred me out of the story every time. And you look beautiful, especially in that dress, with your hair that's been every color of the rainbow. In an interview with IT, Gazy said the process of bringing Echoes to life over such a long period of time gave her a sense of how Netflix works.Fiona and Miles face a number of challenges, both in Berlin and on the island, but after a while (particularly in the Berlin narrative) it grows repetitive.
