I have now enjoyed many more bottles over the last couple of years and still find it one of my great pleasures. The description does nor indicate whether it is a Malbec, Shiraz, etc, but based on other wines I drink it is closest to a Malbec. At first i used to have to bring it back over to England with me as I couldn't find it here but thankfully it's now in ready supply. After making his name with the Black Label range, he has expanded his output to include a range of styles and varieties, all made with the care and charisma for which he is famed. This is a balanced wine with the caramel and vanilla aged characters and subtle oak flavours integrated with lifted sweet cherry and plum fruit flavours.

My parents first discovered this wine in N Ireland over 20+ years ago and I've been drinking it ever since! From an hour or so North of Sydney in Hunter Valley, McGuigan's seem to have perfected the art of making a wine that can appeal to everyone. I bought a little bottle of this wine to try and I was quite surprised it was smooth and slightly sweet , I hate dry wine . Following this is the wonderful flavours of spicy plum, cherry and blackberry that flow through the mouth, resulting in an approachable fruit driven wine with a smooth and mouth filling finish.
