As far as your images go (which is a long way), I am particularly impressed with the monochrome result.

The Nikkor is available in 3 colours matching the higher-grade Nikon 1 cameras: black, silver and white. the engineering guys seem to have done their homework well and then it looks to me like the marketing guys came in and messed up everything big time.to sum it up i feel we must reject this camera as it seems to be coming from the nikon’s marketing dept and we need to tell them to come back with something better …. It's tack-sharp all the way to ƒ/8, only losing a tiny bit of sharpness at ƒ/11, and then it's just sharp when fully-stopped down at ƒ/16. On the same line of logic that you are using, I personally think it’s over the top to put camouflage on your lenses while shooting wildlife. BUT, depending on your expectations, cheap solutions such as extension tubes and achromatic lenses could be just the right thing for you. Will this relatively paltry slab of silicon be able to grab enough photons to transmute my artistic will into eye-slashing files?

As I personally think that at base ISO (and especially with 14mp) the V1/V2 might be a bit of a closet close up machine.With just 8 elements in 6 groups, the lens produces an equivalent field of view of 50mm when mounted on a Nikon 1 series camera. Combined with the fast operation, especially the AF, and the high burst rate this results in an enjoyable shooting experience (fast shooting with a light and small yet capable camera/lens combo), unparalleled by any camera or lens combination on the market.
