When it came, the resolution of Sorcha’s romantic plot, especially given the understandable legacy of her sexual assault, was highly triumphant, and though it is made very clear the fair folk have been playing a long game all along, and that there are major threads still to tie up, Sorcha very much earns her happy ending.

We do, however, repair the vast majority of imperfections successfully; any imperfections that remain are intentionally left to preserve the state of such historical works.

Sorcha, the youngest child of Lor d Colum of Sevenwaters is destined to defend her family and prote ct her land from the Britons, as her father has been bewitched by Lady Oonagh, who has bound her six brothers by a spell that only Sorcha can remove. She is not allowed to speak or communicate through pictures/writing during this time, or else her brothers will never be free. Daughter of the Forest is based loosely on " The Six Swans" (a story that has many versions, one of which is recounted by Hans Christian Andersen). Sorcha nurses him back to health, though he disappears before Oonagh's attack on Sorcha and her brothers. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in our edition.Sorcha being 12 is very puzzling, (and in fact as mentioned above I keep forgetting that she is so young) but then I think it’s probably something that will add weight to her years of hardship – not phrasing that very well but it wouldn’t surprise me if she isn’t a good deal older by the time she completes her ordeal.

Frustrated in her attempts to destroy the family, Oonagh binds the brothers with a spell only Sorcha can lift. She is fearful that he will try to claim his rights as a husband, but he assures her that, if she wants, the marriage will be only in name and will protect her.
