About this deal

Woody's gradual friendship and love for Ellyssa feels more normal, but of course she doesn't "understand" that he loves her. And while we know perfectionism largely develops from genetics and our early life experiences, Curran highlights that this doesn’t necessarily explain why levels of perfectionism are rising. This is one of the most cleverly-thought-out and unique dystopia's I've ever read and it is so realistic.

Until she encounters the epitome of inferiority: a dark-haired boy raised among renegades hiding since the Nazis won the war a century ago.I want to thank Spencer Hill Press for providing me with a copy of this book to read and give an honest review.

There’s a book to be written about Freddy Chang, an Australian whose family was in Australia before most of the Europeans, and yet who is still the “other”, the “foreign”—but this didn’t seem like that book. This is a must-read for anyone who likes their YA with an edge; we're delighted to have it at Spencer Hill! He has managed artfully to contain the sweep of gym history from the ancient Greeks to me and you today in 272 well-written pages. While aptly conveying the pain that comes with mature self-examination (as well as the consequences of failing to see oneself honestly), The Idea of Perfection never loses its gentle sense of irony and humor. I am naturally a massive fan of Dystopia novels so I couldn't wait to read Perfection from the first moment that I heard of it. There are a few time in my possible haste and excitement to read that I suddenly didn't know who was talking and/or where they were.

I felt like him and Ellyssa didn't have enough interaction with each other enough to fall in love with each other. Framed from an artist’s perspective and spanning a diverse range of artworks that question how these ideas shape our personal identities and our social and political systems, On Perfection considers the multifaceted nature of lens-based practices. He or she will trust the book to guide them through that unfamiliar territory in a way that makes it not arduous but exciting. Author Faith Chang addresses the struggles of her fellow "Christian perfectionists" through meditations on God’s character. I’ve given many of my experiences and perceptions to many of the characters in the book, but none of them is me.

They remind us what it means to count on others and to let down our guard so we can be a more complete person. This sprawling collection, designed with Paul Bailey, records thirteen years of Jones’s garrulous impressions of daily existence that are simultaneously personal, popular, and political. If you're looking for something a little different where the characters will weasel their way into your heart, then pick this one up. The relation between your title, The Idea of Perfection, and your subject matter is not immediately obvious, since your character studies in this book seem more concerned with weaknesses and failings than with anything “perfect. The present book is an attempt to rectify this and to introduce Father Sophrony’s artistic vision and understanding.
