Only months after birth, a viperwolf cub is required to hunt on its own. However, the cubs mature swiftly and grow to half the adult size by their sixth month. By then, they also have a full set of teeth and their jaw muscles are almost mature. Viperwolf young are playful, in much the same manner as that of Terran Canidae pups. Although vicious during combat and hunting, viperwolf mothers treat their cubs in a gentle, loving manner. They are also known to avoid the scent of the Slinger. Revered by the Na’vi in their lives, lore, and history, the ikran or banshee as the RDA named it (for its piercing cry), is a cornerstone of the Na’vi’s way of life. The Omatikaya have a particular connection to the mountain banshees that roost deep within the Hallelujah Mountains. Skel-Suits (also known as EXO-32 Light Mobility Platforms) are powered exoskeletons that are about the same size as a Na'vi warrior. They are worn as a skeletal frame and are more akin to motorized stilts. Soldiers at Bridgehead and other RDA installations use these for industrial and military applications. In level flight, when large amounts of power are not required, the creature propels itself with the fore-wing and uses the "stabs" as a tail-plane, for altitude control. Indeed, the great leonopteryx is crucial to the Na'vi's sense of destiny and interconnectedness.The prolemuris has several peculiarities that seem to indicate that it is a sort of evolutionary "missing link" between the Na'vi and other Pandoran animals. The hexapede resembles a six-legged Terran gazelle or antelope. They are dark blue herbivores with white and yellow stripes.
