About this deal

Once upon a time an old man lived in a hut with his little girl, Natasha. So happy they were! At tea time, they would play peek-a-boo behind the samovar (a very tall teapot). They would drink tea with honey bread and strawberry jam. She is usually represented along these lines, no matter what good may come of her actions, and so it could be argued that whatever may have inspired the figure is irrelevant as she became known as the personification of evil. No single interpretation of her origin is universally agreed upon, and the same is true of her name. Johns writes: Tales about Baba Yaga usually recount that heroes daring to enter her humble abode would find her draped across her cooking stove. The enormous stove is described as reaching from one side of the hut to the other, subtly emphasizing her size and magical powers.

Love the use of Hansel and Gretel here. Many may not realize that the witch in it was traditionally a version of Baba Yaga.

The Tale about Baba-Yaga ( Russian: Сказка о Бабе-Яге, romanized: Skazka o Babe-Yage, lit.'Fairy Tale about Baba-Yaga') is a Russian fairy tale first published in a late 18th-century compilation of fairy tales. Baba Y However, she is also a far more complex character than that synopsis suggests. Cunning, clever, helpful as much as a hindrance, she could indeed be the most feminist character in folklore.

Can you tell some time passed since I started this anthology? (lol) For now, I've doing better with the whole eating issue... for now. Cannibals are just one of my realistic fears that haunt me sometimes and I just don't think I will ever get past it. Retired cabinetmaker Gilbert Ruff built the theater box that GennaRose Nethercott uses in her own traveling puppet show, pictured here on the day of her book launch. These chapters are brutal, and writing them was an intense experience. Nethercott burst into tears after finishing one particularly difficult scene. Still, writing the book helped her recognize herself a little more. Cute fun poem about Baba Yaga. Loved the line "Eat their names under the light of the moon"⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐My most favourite and the bestest of 'em all! Why? Baba Yaga falls in love in this one. Enough said. The short story is perfect as is, to me, and I'm pretty happy with it as is. The siblings in her book each have their own inherited quirks. For Isaac, it's a constant, itchy restlessness that keeps him on the run; for Bellatine, a supernatural ability that terrifies her.
