I hate the fact that I haven't found a way to boot up straight into the Dune App. I'm sure there must be a way but I can't find it. I only want to use it as a Dune box. When the Dolby Vision chain is fulfilled, media source, device and TV, the display will switch to Dolby Vision. If the display is not Dolby Vision capable the media will be played in HDR or SDR, depending on the display’s capability. So maybe Dolby Vision become available for Amlogic-ng as well. Is internal install by the ceemmc tool available?
In the gaming emulation department, I tested a few PSX games and they performed a little better thanks to the 4GB of RAM, but some N64 ones still stutter like Mario Power Tennis, not sure if the emulator needs to be improved to take advantage of the amount of RAM or if it's something else. It has variety of features: an Ethernet connection , USB Type C , USB 3.0, USB 2.0, S/PDIF digital optical audio output for surround sound support. Pressing and holding the power button doesn't bring the options to take screenshots and rebooting the device but that is something removed by Google and not by Homatics. Jako obvykle u ní jdeme zejména po IPTV/VoD, tedy kompatibilitě aplikací s o. s. Android TV. Tady se na Google TV nehraje! Many apps still fail to access the internal or external storage due to the new permission policy implemented in Android 11 and above, developers still need to optimize this policy in their apps, a workaround is to manually select the option in each individual Android’s app settings to allow access to the storage all the time if available, otherwise, selecting the option to access the storage only when the app is in use work with some apps. I've been unable to use some game console emulators such as Lemuroid because of this. Some may prefer to run it that way with KODI as the local media player. KODI performance and functionality is excellent including DV player LED. Known Dune APP version media player restrictions: No passthrough for DTS HD and DTS-X (but decode to PCM 5.1/7.1 will work). It is on their roadmap lo look into this when a new SDK (planned Q2) and/or new Android TV OS version becomes available from Amlogic. It (very) much remains to be seen if it in fact will enable DTS Passthrough? It is not a promise or something to be expected with any guarantee as it can't be fixed just in the Dune APP. This support will be available in Dune HD Homatics Box R 4K Plus model and in Dune HD Premier 4K Pro model (these two models are based on the same ATV platform).
First impression: It is a nice little box perfect to be used with a "NOT Powered by ANDROID TV" and optionally a sound bar. It is also a perfect little thing to take along being on the road as it weights nothing, is very small including the PSU and has internal antenna's (don't come off or get lost).
