About this deal

Safeguarding issues can arise in many forms including online. These can be identified by four key areas, otherwise called the 4Cs:

The internet and online technology provides new opportunities for young people’s learning and growth, but it can also expose them to new types of risks. Your school should foster an open environment in which children and young people are encouraged to ask any questions and participate in an ongoing conversation about the benefits and dangers of the online world. Read our advice on what to do if a young person tells you they've been involved with sexting, how to write policies and procedures around this and where to report or share your concerns. Further information can be found in Ashbourne’s Relationships and Sex Education Policy and Child-on-Child/Peer-on-Peer Abuse Policy.Content: being exposed to illegal, inappropriate, or harmful content, for example: pornography, fake news, racism, misogyny, self-harm, suicide, anti-Semitism, radicalisation and extremism. The Principal is responsible for ensuring that the Facilities Team, which manages technical e-safety filtering, monitoring and review, receives sufficient support to carry out this task including authorising the acquisition of relevant software as and when necessary. The Principal conducts weekly meetings with the Facilities Team in relation to all aspects of health and safety, including e-safety. A number of EU directives and regulations are under review to adapt them to achieve stated ambitions. These include: CO 2 emissions performance standards for cars and vans; Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Directive; European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (which supports the deployment of charging infrastructure); Batteries Directive of 2006 which is being complemented by a proposed Batteries Regulation announced in December 2020 and the EURO pollutants emissions standard. The UK Council for Internet Safety (UKCIS) provides a range of guidance and resources about online safety. In December 2020, the EU Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy and Action Plan bolstered these plans for the transport sector with ambitious ZEV deployment goals. Plus, automating T&E will feed your business valuable data, letting you know how you can optimize for financial benefit in the future. In the Europe Union, the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Directive (AFID) is the main measure guiding the roll-out of publicly accessible EV charging stations. EU members are required to set deployment targets for publicly accessible EV chargers for the decade to 2030, with an indicative ratio of 1 charger per 10 electric cars. The EU Green Deal raised the bar with a target of 1 million publicly accessible chargers installed by 2025 and set out a roadmap of key actions to achieve it. This includes revisions to the AFID in 2021. Some proponents call for it to be converted to an enforced regulation which would allow the establishment of binding targets for member states, to revise the 1charger per 10electric cars ratio, to give EU citizens the right to request the installation of charging points (“ right to plug”) regardless of location and to include provisions for HDVs.Without an effective travel and expense policy, your company will experience a lot of frustration and probably overspending as well. A T&E policy, when it is accurate and automated, helps control spend without micromanaging, reduce the repetitive questions that your administrative team needs to answer, and ensures that your finance team has continuous access to the data and reporting they need. However, the use of these new technologies can put young people at risk within and outside the school. Some of the dangers they may face include:
