Although not listed in the fragrance pyramid, ambroxan is also a strongly perceptible component, but very pleasant and fresh and not as penetrating and annoying as in Dior Sauvage. Founded in 2009, their fragrances are inspired by the “golden age of perfumery”– the 18th Century French era. Moreover, the deep-blue bottle colour captures the vibe of the scent within, and the bottle itself is supremely sturdy and durable. Everything about this scent exudes quality.

I’d feel comfortable saying you could wear this with confidence on any occasion if you wanted. I certainly have, and haven’t regretted it!

What I love most with Percival but is the drydown, because the lavender is just a dream. You think after some time that the fragrance is gone, but then you suddenly feel again this beautiful cloud of fragrance in the nose and you are happy again and smile. :) Das ist mein derzeitiger, liebster allrounder. Mein ertragbares Dior Sauvage. Mein Immergeher, mein dumb-reach. Dazu habe ich in den letzten 3 Wochen eine interessante Erfahrung gemacht. Aus diversen Gründen habe ich mich nicht mehr so häufig und ständig auf Parfumo rumgetrieben und vom ständigen Düftetesten, bewerten, einordnen etc. echt die Nase voll gehabt. Hatte keine einzige (Nischen-)Duftprobe zur Hand, dann kam mit dem letzten Duftpaket eine Probe von Percival mit, dem neuen Duft von Parfums de Marly. Kalan is warm and spicy, with an earthy and woody dry down. It performs incredibly well, lasts a long time and is perfect for fall and winter.Parfums de Marly is named after “Château de Marly,” a French royal residence that once stood near Versailles. Parfums de Marly ist einfach ein Nischenlabel, was einfach den Nerv trifft mit meist nicht zu komplexen Konzepten, qualitativ hochwertig. Oft Designer-ähnliche Konzepte zu Nischenqualität. Auch dieser Percival. Ein soooo gefälliger Duft, der fast jedem gefallen wird. Auch massenhaft Komplimente bleiben nicht aus, wie bei den meisten der Marly-Düfte.

I associate a niche snob with someone who finds per se niche fragrances better than mainstream fragrances, then my judgement would be rather no. I like to be blinded by the beautiful exterior, yes that happens. But this is absolutely human for me and you can discover it in every area of life..women, cars, clothes..so why not in perfumes too?!
