About this deal

Leo and Emma have been married for seven years and together for a couple before they wed.. They seem like the ideal couple, at ease with each other . Emma loves her husband and their young daughter Ruby. Emma has suffered from cancer and that has

Emma and Leo narrate the various chapters that start off strongly intriguing but as things become clearer, some things seemed to implausible to me. Most were explained away and the twists were interesting but given the fame of Janice and her very famous husband, Jeremy, who has reached out to Emma to Leo's surprise and confusion; I just couldn't shake how the media didn't unravel the mystery which wasn't well hidden nor that "surprising". Furthermore, the media parks outside Janice's and Jeremy's home but then seemingly stop and do not further mentions in the 24/7 news cycle. Huh? In fact, when Janice goes into hiding, no one seems to notice her presence at the place. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Imogen Church and Theo Solomon who are the voices of Emma and Leo. They narrate with passion and believability that bring the characters to life. What a great listen! Brilliantly plotted and beautifully written, what really elevates Rosie Walsh’s book above the competition is the characters. Contradictory, flawed and entirely human, I loved and rooted for them like real people.” Și de aici începe totul.I didn’t much care for Ghosted by this author at all, but then I got it confused with another book with a similar title since I’m an idiot and was all about trying to get an early copy/first dibs at the library for this new release. I’m happy to report I wasn’t disappointed once I finally got my hands on it. Chapters primarily alternate between the first person perspectives of the husband and wife, so the audiobook is narrated by Imogen Church and Theo Solomon. They both did a fine job, though even at 1.75x speed it felt longer than it needed to. I was eager to get to the end to see the plot’s resolution and also to move on with my life. Leo vrea să afle ce ascunde soția lui - e o aventură amoroasă? A făcut ceva în tinerețe? Ce anume? De ce ascunde lucruri față de el? And she might just have got away with it, if it weren’t for her husband’s job. Leo is an obituary writer; Emma a well-known marine biologist. When she suffers a serious illness, Leo copes by doing what he knows best – researching and writing about his wife’s life. But as he starts to unravel the truth, he discovers the woman he loves doesn’t really exist. Even her name isn’t real. All in all, povestea vă va prinde și veți fi curioși să aflați ce ascunde Emma și de ce și-a ascuns trecutul.

I noticed that many other GR reviewers went into this believing it would be a standard thriller. (That blurb does come across as ominously dark.) For the most part, Rosie Walsh's last few novels do have mysterious or thriller elements to them, but what I always go to this author for is emotional and psychological tension and drama. THAT she can do very well! When journalist husband, Leo stubbles across some documents his wife of ten years, Emma has been hiding, he is more than a little perplexed. He begins doing some research and realizes that a few friends have hinted that they know more about her than he does. Emma has been through many rough times, even recently struggled with cancer while pregnant. He has attributed some anomalies in her behavior to her bouts of depression. Now he isn't sure what is going on. My thanks to Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for the DRC of “The Love of My Life”. This review is voluntary and contains my honest opinion about the book. Sorry this didn't work out better.this was a such an odd reading experience because the story is pretty much a hybrid. the book begins as if its just a contemporary fiction story, but then starts to transform into a mystery/thriller, only to finish as a womens fiction novel. its as if the author didnt know what kind of story she wanted to write, so she just combined them all into one. Rosie Walsh’s The Love of My Life is my favorite kind of thriller—gripping, heartbreaking and impossible to put down.”—Laura Dave
