About this deal

We got this out from our local library and my daughter thought it was hilarious with the naughty goat and all the mischief he got up to while at playgroup.

Goat Goes to Playgroup : Donaldson, Julia, Sharratt, Nick

High quality Phonics Program (Phase 1-6) created by a Specialist Leader in Education for Early Years and Phonics.Goat Goes To Playgroup is a story that preschoolers will find very easy to identify with. Follow Goat through the adventures of a typical day at kindergarten. This story connects well to a number of different topics. You could explore daily routines, sports and leisure or school. There is so much to talk about when you share the story. Some children will enjoy pointing to and naming the animals…‘dog’‘goat’. Some children will like to tell you what the animals are doing…‘Weasel is painting’. Some children will be able to share what they like to do at Nursery. This book really turned me off. If you want your child to "fit in", and "do as he's told" regardless of his well being, this book is for you.

Goat Goes to Playgroup - Julia Donaldson

a very colourful book, with bright pictures and colourful animals. the story was very helpful as we read it a few days before my daughter went to play group herself. This is an Early Years planning brainstorm to use as a starting point for provocation ideas to enable the environment. Julia Donaldson is one of today's most popular writers. Her bestselling titles include The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo's Child and Room on the Broom. Although she is best-known for her picture books, Julia also writes longer novels, plays and songs. She lives in Glasgow and spends a lot of time on stage performing her brilliant sell-out singalong shows! There's a commotion in the classroom as Goat and the other animals spend the day at playgroup. The musical instruments and the dressing up box are lots of fun, but -- oh dear! -- Goat gets into a muddle or two. It is very important for children to hear counting words. Can you count together how many teddies Monkey is cuddling? Through the story of Goat's active day, we are able to share the experience of the smallest children starting playgroup or nursery, suddenly encountering an environment with unfamiliar boundaries – where play is plentiful but controlled, and where we also occasionally have embarrassing moments like failing to make the toilet in time. Another great book from this pair. My little boy loves predicting the endings to each line and we like discussing what naughty things the goat is getting up to!

Goat Goes to Playgroup by Julia Donaldson, Nick Sharratt

Another great Julia Donaldson book. The illustrations are beautiful and the book gives us a lot to talk about.Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical Moments I really enjoy writing verse, even though it can be fiendishly difficult. I used to memorise poems as a child and it means a lot to me when parents tell me their child can recite one of my books.

My real breakthrough was THE GRUFFALO, again illustrated by Axel. We work separately - he’s in London and I’m in Glasgow - but he sends me letters with lovely funny pictures on the envelopes.
