About this deal

Emil and the Detectives by Erich Kastner is a total classic and thrilling read, or what about the irreverant Tapper Twins books by Geoff Rodkey. Gene Kemp's The Turbulent Term of Tyke Tileris also excellent (look out for the twist!) This book is is by Tony Ross. This book has 3 stories about Horrid Henry. Henry is 10 years old, he has a little brother called Peter. It is a funny book and is a good book to read. I'd also recommend Morris Gleitzman's Two Weeks with the Queen, about a young boy whose brother is seriously ill and writes to the Queen asking for her help. Poignant, funny, and profound.' There seems to be a popular fan theory that Henry has ADHD, dyslexia or is on the autism spectrum, although this is completely unconfirmed.

In the television series, Henry is noticeably more tame and human, particularly after series 2, whereas in the books, he is much more horrid and appears to have almost no redeeming qualities, often displaying some sociopathic traits. Horrid Henry's Holiday" and "Horrid Henry and Moody Margaret" have been reprinted individually as part of the Early Readers series, [4] [5] aimed at younger children, with colour illustrations in 2009 and 2010 respectively.Henry is likely secretly very sensitive as his brother tends to get lots more affection than him, such as how Mum calls Peter honey bun, or bunny kins. This is probably what led Henry to dislike Peter so much, as he took all his parents attention from him. Henry appears to have messy reddish-brown hair, pale skin, and rosy cheeks. He is of average height for his age. He usually appears to be wearing a horizontally yellow striped light blue T-shirt, blue sewn jeans, and the usual green and white shell-toe trainers with yellow laces. His pyjamas are blue, with vertical white stripes. The slippers he wears in his pyjamas have inside looks like a crocodile's face and lime green colour. Henry is shown to have a strong grudge against Rabid Rebecca the most out of all his enemies. Whenever Henry finds out Rebecca is around, he always attempts to get rid of her to the point where he tried to get Rebecca arrested in " Horrid Henry and the Bogey Babysitter". Despite that, Henry does seem to fear Rebecca at times after she threatens him. Continue the adventures with Henry with our Horrid Henry: The complete story collection 30 books box set. Henry and Peter have to go to the school's dance class taught by Miss Impatience Tutu, a very impatient woman who claims she is patient that Henry hates. The class has to play a concert and everyone is practicing for it. Impatience Tutu makes Henry sit behind a false bush for being horrid at her class so he won't embarrass everyone at the concert. When its time for the concert, Henry decides to make his part bigger and by doing so, makes Impatience Tutu stop the concert this story then ends with Henry being happy to finally go for karate. Early Readers are stepping stones from picture books to reading books. A blue Early Reader is perfect for sharing and reading together. A red Early... Throughout the whole course of the series, Henry's best friend is Rude Ralph, which Henry has a similar personality. Ralph is the richest kid in school and lives the life of luxury that Henry dreams of having, is a member of the Purple Hand Gang and is often involved with Henry at schemes and plots. His other friends include Aerobic Al, Beefy Bert, Brainy Brian, Anxious Andrew, Weepy William and Greedy Graham. According to Henry, they have told him millions of times that he can never have another birthday party, but then agree to give him one more chance each year.Try another 'bad boy' - Just William by Richmal Crompton. Keep forgetting to have a look whenever I'm near a bookshop. Have 2 DD's. One's 6 and one's going to be 5 any minute now. Am wondering whether they are the sort of books that they might enjoy. This article contains information on characters, places, items or events which take place in the Horrid Henry animated television series. Readitdaddy had a great suggestion: Dork Diaries.'C would definitely recommend Dork Diaries for kids who do love a great series that evolves over time but can also be read completely out of sequence,' he said. Horrid Henry is a mischievous troublemaker who has a few anger management issues and is a little bit over-exhilarant, with features of arrogance too. He is a bad-tempered, hot headed kid with a smart mouth. He's also extremely skeptical of authority, or just anything that kids stereotypically hate, such as school, but he's also a trendy kid who's always in on the latest trends. Due to his mischievous behaviour, he's disliked by most of his teachers. Henry is known to be horrid, but by Series 2, he had become nicer, and by series 3, he has become quite popular. On the other hand, Dad treats Henry really well in the later series and they start to have a bond which makes their relationships closer. Whereas Mum would tell Henry not to be horrid just for joking or being sarcastic which is why Henry does not get along with her, however she truly does care about her son and love him deep down. I really liked the book, and I would recommend it to all my friends because they are all bad and they need to learn respect. On 23 June 2010, Vertigo Films announced that a live action 3-D film of Horrid Henry was in production. The film's plot focuses on Henry and The Purple Hand Gang fighting to prevent the closure of their school by an evil private school Headmaster. [6] The film was released on 29 July 2011 in the United Kingdom and 11 January 2013 in Australia. Henry's next door neighbour and arch-enemy. Margaret often annoys Henry, while Henry torments Margaret by performing horrid deeds. They might deal with things, but they are still enemies. Despite the conflicts between Henry and Margaret, they seem to temporarily strike up as alliances, like in " Horrid Henry's Horrid Revenge", and on many occasions, they have been married or engaged in Henry's dreams. Horrid Henry makes jump to hit big screen". BBC News. London. 23 June 2010 . 'Hilariously illustrated, they really are marvellous, madcap adventures.' Your suggestions Early Readers are stepping stones from picture books to reading books. This Horrid Henry Early Reader is the next step on your reading journey. H... I love this, book because I think it's funny. It is funny when Horrid Henry calls Perfect Peter a 'worm' and a 'smell nappy baby'. my 5 year old loves them, she's a pretty confident reader and can manage them by herself (which is fortunate since i can't abide them). can also get them with cds which is great for the inbetweeny reading stage. At Books2Door, we believe that reading is a fundamental skill that every child should have to help improve their vocabulary, grammar, and critical thinking skills.
