About this deal

Why you can trust TechRadar We spend hours testing every product or service we review, so you can be sure you’re buying the best. Find out more about how we test. We now have UK pricing, but the B1 OLED won't be coming to the US. Read more in our LG B1 OLED guide.

Like years prior, it will still use an attached Dolby Atmos soundbar as a hub for inputs and outputs and need to be mounted. If you want something bigger than 65-inches, LG says that the 77-inch version of the W9 OLED will be available this year as well. It also supports ATSC 3.0. It has pretty much everything you’d expect from a top-flight TV in 2020. You get LG’s superb WebOS front end which supplies silky smooth access to all the major streaming services, including Netflix, Now TV, Prime Video, Disney+, BBC iPlayer, Rakuten, Youtube and more. There’s also support for hands-free voice control, and you can request Alexa or Google Assistant’s help, too, if that suits. Dolby Vision content gets a nice brightness boost from the Cinema Home preset, though, and this is brilliant for daytime HDR viewing – it uses Dolby Vision IQ to dynamically adjust the overall picture brightness to suit the lighting conditions.

In our review, we called the C1 one of the best TVs at any price. It’s missing the new OLED evo panels going into the G1 OLED, but even in their absence the C1 produces colorful, bright and rich pictures with support for most types of HDR. There might be one or two areas for improvement, but otherwise the LG C1 OLED is still the gold standard for 2021 OLED TVs. Add to the audio mix virtual 5.1 surround sound, AI algorithm up-mixing and Dolby Atmos surround sound support, and the A1 presents a surprisingly meaty, immersive audio experience for what is considered a budget OLED model. If you comeacross a different type of panel or your LG A1 doesn't correspond to our review, let us know and we'll update the review. Note that some tests like gray uniformity may vary between individual units. LG B1 4K OLED (55, 65, 77-inch): The B Series OLED isn't the cheapest model any more, but a new iteration is still coming. It has 40W of downward-firing audio, rather than the 20W of the A1 model below, and has two HDMI 2.1 ports to recommend it as a gaming TV too. It uses the a7 Gen 4 AI processor, rather than a higher-spec a9 model, so you can expect a little more video noise than in pricier OLEDs, but still with an excellent 4K HDR picture. That’s something all the OLED TVs can do, so it’s nice to see it in the more affordable entry-level Nano Cell series. The only downside to this model is that it uses edge-lit LEDs instead of a full array panel which will definitely take a toll on contrast, but again, you get what you pay for.

Controlling all this, and to make the A1 series as affordable as possible, LG has withheld its latest Alpha 9 Generation 4 chip found in all 2021 models above its B1 series, settling instead on its Alpha 7 Generation 4 AI processor 4K. Updated to Test Bench 1.7 with an updated HDR Brightness test that better reflects real world usage. We've also split the console compatibility boxes into separate PS5 Compatibility and Xbox Series X|S Compatibility tests. You can see our full changelog here. LG Z1 8K OLED (77, 88-inch): LG's only 8K OLED TV is sure to be pricey, but it's one of very few televisions that meld 8K resolution with the benefits of an OLED panel. It's only available in a couple of larger sizes, though a bit cheaper than in previous years. At the top-end LG OLED, though, you're also getting top-class upscaling, Dolby Atmos audio, and the HDMI 2.1 / VRR gaming features found on the C1 and G1. We've only got UK pricing (below), but US figures are sure to follow shortly. With those four HDMI 2.1 ports providing all the ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and 4k 120Hz loveliness that a gamer could ask for, the GX is just as desirable as the CX for console-based entertainment. It’s ready and raring for the next-gen consoles to arrive. The LG Nano90 is one step up from the LG Nano85 and the big change is that it uses a full-array panel for better contrast and comes in a larger, 86-inch screen size. Otherwise it has all the same specs and features as the LG Nano85.

Driven by data, run by a passionate team of engineers, testers, technical writers, developers, and more.We uploaded the brightness measurements and uniformity photos after running the TV for four months in our Accelerated Longevity Test. Add to that the inclusion of Dolby Vision IQ to enhance images further by intelligently adjusting picture settings based on both the HDR content it’s showing and the ambient light of your surroundings, plus HDR10 and HLG support to boot, and the picture performance ought to be worth every penny of the entry price. Certain television settings may require you to enter letters. There are usually three letters or other characters on a button. When letter input is required, you can press that button once for the first letter, press twice for the second letter and press 3 times for the third letter. This way, text can be written with a minimum number of buttons.
