About this deal

Our detailed product safety sheets contain all the information you need to know about our chemicals, including: In this scenario, the system may benefit from a manual flush using with X300. The system I’m dealing with is older than 6 months Sometimes a more general clean is required, aimed at removing iron oxide and limescale deposits from pipework, heat exchangers and radiators. X800 Fast Acting Cleaner is ideal for these purposes, designed for use in conjunction with powerflushing equipment, but also proving a highly effective cleaner when manually flushed, too. It is effective both hot and cold. When might I need Deposit Remover?

A constant flow of water kept on coming out of the radiator that is the closet to the drain valve which confuses me as no more water is coming out of the external and only drain valve continue to flush through with fresh water until water runs clear without sediment. catch some in the palm of your hand, you will see small bits easier. When you drain the X800, do you refill the system with plain water and drain it again to drain away any remaining loosened dirt? If a sealed system (combi, or non-combi but with no F&E tank but with an expansion vessel either inside the boiler or external to it) you will need to add the chemical another way. Often a tall towel type radiator will do. Turn off the boiler. Bleed water from a radiator bleed point until the boiler pressure drops to zero. Take the whole bleed plug (not just the square headed bleed screw) out of the top of the radiator, syphon out 1.5 litres of water and replace with the chemical. Replace the plug, top up the system water to normal boiler pressure (say 1.3 bar if you don't know what that is). Run the system as above. You will still have to do a full drain down and repeat a few times as above. If you don't have a suitable towel type radiator you can get the chemicals in various "easy add" versions. I've never found these easy to use. The unique composition of Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner provides a powerful penetrating cleaning action. It will restore more even heat distribution to a property, keeping occupants warmer and bills lower. The rapid, heavy-duty clean that Sentinel Fast Acting Cleaner provides is ideal when commercial heating systems require immediate, unscheduled maintenance.

Best practice, derived from documentation provided by industry organisations such as BSRIA or the Industrial & Commercial Energy Association (ICOM), is that an older commercial heating system should be thoroughly cleaned and flushed out before the installation of a new boiler. it's not cheap for a can of "liquid", but I suppose if it's got lots of magic in it then it's quite cheap!

I plan to put in x800 to clean system how long should I leave it in please. I will not be using a powerflush. i have used x800 without a powerflusher, used it for a over night cleaning of rads, eg run the system over night then i come the next day to change the boiler. It is recommended thatX800 Fast Acting Cleaneris used in accordance with standard cleaning and commissioning protocols such as BSRIA Guide “Pre-Commission Cleaning of Pipework Systems”.After cleaning, the system should be drained and flushed until the water runs clear. On refilling, the system should be treated with Sentinel X100 Inhibitor or Sentinel X500 Inhibited Antifreeze.

Actually I should be fine, did not know the difference between single and double feed cylinders (//www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=206316). I read online that I should have open the bleed valves a bit whilst draining the system. So with this new information I started bleeding the radiators downstairs starting with the one closet to the boiler, which caused more water to come out of the drain valve Sentinel X800 Fast Acting Cleaner is a heavy-duty cleaner for small or large commercial heating and closed-circuit cooling systems. It is formulated to penetrate and remove iron oxide and calcium based deposits from the entire circuit, including boilers, heat exchangers, radiators and pipe work. It is ideal when systems require immediate, unplanned cleaning. Someone suggested doing a power flush but another plumber suggested that it may not be necessary. I would like to try and clean my central heating system before going for the power flush. Our mission is to make best practice solutions simple. To achieve optimum performance and reliability for domestic central heating systems, follow our best practice process of clean, protect and maintain whether you’re commissioning a new system or revitalising an old one.The benefits of adhering to this best practice include improved performance, increased energy savings, and longer system life.

I guess as there is no maximum time and the spec. sheet suggests that it can protect against corrosion implies I can just leave it in.
