This is the first book where the cover shows Captain Underpants with his mouth open which is how it is for all books starting this one.

George and Harold aren't bad kids. They just like to "liven things up" for everybody. Unfortunately, their THOUGHTFUL jokes sometimes get them into a LOT of trouble.

Captain Underpants is also a brilliant character, it is just a shame that for most of the time he isn't around. This book marks the first time that Mr. Krupp and Mr. Fyde's first names are mentioned, which are Benny and Morty respectively. According to his resume in the film, his birthday is on April 1, 1953, likely as a hint since April 1st is April Fools' Day, and it could be an indirect reference to him being a fool. In reference to their names, the Shrinky-Pig 2000 looks like a pig, and the Goosy-Grow 4000 resembles a goose. Meanwhile, far away in New Swissland, the illustrious scientist Professor Pippy Pee-Pee Poopypants has created various devices to shrink and enlarge objects. He decides to bring his inventions to America. None of the major universities pay any attention to his inventions because they can’t stop laughing at his name. Finally, since he’s running out of money, Professor Poopypants answers Principal Krupps’ ad for an elementary science teacher.

Professor Poopypants is then hauled off to jail. On the advice of George and Harold, he changes his name so no one will make fun of it anymore (which he hadn't thought of until George noted that to him). Sadly, he chooses his maternal grandfather's name, Tippy Tinkletrousers, which the people at jail make fun of. George and Harold know they have to enlist the help of Captain Underpants. They snap their fingers, and Mr. Krupp takes on his hero persona. He’s still tiny, so the boys have to get the professor’s growth ray. They make Captain Underpants as large as the Gerbil Jogger 2000. Then the hero and the professor do battle. Captain Underpants wins, and Professor Poopypants goes to jail. He writes to the boys from prison, saying he’s sorry and that he’s changing his name so no one will ever make fun of him again. The new name he’s chosen is Tippy Tinkletrousers. When George and Harold arrive in the alternate universe, Pippy Pee-Pee Poopypants/Tippy Tinkletrousers was seen as a good guy. He was working for the fire department along with Zorx, Klax, and Jennifer, who also became good. On the one hand I am not too happy with the mistakes in the comics (it does get a bit old), but on the other hand it does fit the age of the duo. On the inside of the cover it shows Professor Poopypants crossing out Dav Pilkey's name and writing the silly equivalent (Gidget Hamsterbrains). Professer Poopypants' new name Tippy Tinkletrousers is, according to the letter he wrote at the end, his grandfather's name on his mother's side. Meanwhile, Professor Poopypants finds a ad to teach at the school and applies for the job, thinking children to be kind and sweet-hearted, but they spend days laughing at his silly name instead of learning anything. The professor only gets them interested by building a robot that makes gerbils jog along with them, but the interest is short-lived when George gets him to reveal his middle name (pee-pee). Sometime later, Ms. Ribble reads The Pied Piper of Hamelin, which inspires George and Harold to make a comic about the Professor trying to take over the world using an army of gerbils in suits, which makes Professor Poopypants furious and destroys the last of his sanity. He was the only character in the film to have his name changed from his book counterpart. In the movie, his full name is Professor Pee-Pee Diarrheastein Poopypants Esquire.

Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants

Professor Pippy Poopypants was the only human being who got outright murdered in the books, while the other human villains like Melvin, Captain Blunderpants, Kipper Krupp and Dr Diaper got defeated in non-leathal ways. Professor Poopypants is the main antagonist of the film. Professor Poopypants is first seen looking at a poster advertising a position for a science teacher at Jerome Horowitz Elementary School, and says it would be the perfect cover for his plan. Fourth-graders George Beard and Harold Hutchins have created their own comic superhero named Captain Underpants. They begin this book by drawing a comic for readers that recaps how they developed the character. They also show how they accidentally brought it to life when they hypnotized their principal. Now whenever someone snaps his or her fingers, Mr. Krupp turns into Captain Underpants and fights crime wearing only his briefs and a curtain for a cape.I loved the pranks (not the name calling) by George and Harold (or should I say Fluffy and Cheeseball). They should just ask their parents to move to another school, one that doesn't mind imagination and instead will motivate and stimulate the brains of these 2 kids. I was rooting for the professor to get his revenge. Yep, I was rooting for the baddie. Though, then again, he wasn't necessarily evil, he just snapped. I did like his revenge plan, and how (hilariously) people were unhappy. See, you don't like it to be bullied with your name, then don't do it to others. Professor Poopypants has been literally laughed out of several famous colleges when he tried to present the Goosy-Grow and the Shrinky-Pig (some of those colleges include Harvard, Georgetown, Yale, Stanford, and Chattanooga State Tech Community College).

Captain Underpants : Book 4, The Perilous Plot of Professor Captain Underpants : Book 4, The Perilous Plot of Professor

Professor Poopypants spots Melvin Sneedly as a villain in the comic, "Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants." Infuriated by Captain Underpants' insistence that the comic should be taught to classrooms as a history book, Professor Poopypants leaves. However, the car driven by Out of the Road Driver hits him thrice on the way. Once he's done, he laughs at Poopypants' name upon hearing it. It is revealed here that what happened at the end of the eighth book did not originally happen, as Tippy and the robotic trousers were actually from the future and interrupted what was supposed to happen. In the original timeline, after George, Harold, and Mr. Krupp are arrested, Tippy reveals his newest robotic suit to his prisoners by claiming that he is building a statue for the warden. He then takes Mr. Krupp and breaks both of them out as he wishes to find George and Harold and get revenge on Captain Underpants for throwing him in prison. So I hope that the next book has a bit better plot/less bullying, I can't wait to see what villain we get next time! Full Book Name: Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot of Professor Poopypants (Captain Underpants, #4)A week later, Professor Poopypants manages to get the children interested in science by building a machine called the Gerbil-Jogger 2000 that allows gerbils to jog alongside their masters. However, this interest is short-lived (thanks to George), as he reveals his middle name to be Pee-Pee, causing the children to start laughing again. Ms. Ribble reads the story of The Pied Piper from Hamelin. This inspires George and Harold to make a Captain Underpants comic book about the Professor inventing an army of gerbil joggers to destroy the world using a headphones on the gerbils to control them and everyone in the comic including Captain Underpants laughs at his name, which destroys the last of Professor Poopypants' credibility with the students and drives him crazy (after he found a copy of the comic in the hallway). When Professor Poopypants is extolling the kindness and innocence of children, a boy can be seen, ironically, pouring salt into his tea. Professor Poopypants was born in 1936 in New Swissland. He created the Goosy-Grow 4000 and the Shrinky-Pig 2000, as he wanted to solve global problems. He moved to America because he wanted to share his inventions with the world and solve the biggest problems they had, but he was laughed out of every single important college he had enrolled in, all because of his ridiculous name. Before Professor Poopypants is then hauled off to jail. George then questions Professor Poopypants wouldn't it have been smarter to try changing his own name instead of forcing the rest of the world to change theirs. The surprised professor notes he never thought of that. As per George's advice, Professor Poopypants changes his name so no one will make fun of it anymore. Sadly, he chooses his grandfather's name (on his mother's side), Tippy Tinkletrousers, which Dr. Diaper and the inmates at jail facility make fun of him (including the guards).
