Meta Knight becomes crazy with increased movement speed, which will make him much more threatening to any opponent who dares cross his path. Meta Knight has been a strong character in Smash Brothers in the past and he is one of the baddest looking characters Nintendo has designed. If you’ve read many of our character guides before, this should come as no surprise: Meta Knight’s a lightweight fighter, so he greatly appreciates this setup’s extra defensive boost.
He can use it to tech chase when the opponent is at too high of a % to be hit by other dash attack followups. Also it’s a multihit that carries to opponent to the blast zone, deals a lot of damage for MK, and opponents are REALLY bad about blocking this attack. Since amiibo know how to recover without being trained, you don’t need to teach him Shuttle Loop at all for the amiibo to properly recover.There appears to be a hard cap to how many UAirs he can string (2) before he’ll stop attacking and give the opponent a chance to retaliate. Comparison to Smash Brothers Amiibo – While this isn’t Battle Review (because I want to keep my Smash Meta Knight unopened), it is interesting to compare the two Amiibo.
On the one hand MK CAN chain this move very reliably and it is a Frame 4 aerial with a good amount of range, but on the other hand once he starts using it onstage, he will inevitably try to use it offstage. At the same time, the KO potential from the optional attack is massive, and its movement pattern makes it more versatile than anything else Meta Knight has.
Pose – One of the things that underwhelmed me about the repeat characters (Kirby, Meta Knight, and King Dedede) when the Kirby Amiibo line was announced is how uninteresting the poses seemed. I think most people will end up feeling like you do though and I don’t expect this Amiibo to be nearly as sought after as the Smash Meta Knight.
As far as onstage movement goes, Meta Knight should be walking, but occasionally be in the air above the stage to approach and for combos or strings.Tournament-legal bonuses: Almost all of Meta Knight’s attacks involve a weapon, so Weapon Attack ↑ is a clear choice!
